Open with care if you get it in a bottle or growler - it foams from here to the Pole of Inaccessibility! When you finally get some - pours a rich coffee brown with a VERY thick tan head that leaves some good lacing. Quality coffee dominates the strong aroma, which has caramel, semi-sweet chocolate, roast malt and licorice notes as well. Flavor is like iced coffee - good iced coffee from a good cafe - that has touches of chocolate, caramel and licorice, as well as a malty underpinning so you know this is beer. Firm, fizzy texture leaves a strong and slightly bitter coffee finish. More espresso than milk, but udderly delicious.

Serving type: growler

Enjoyed on tap at Sal & Mookie's, Jackson, MS

A: Dark chocolate blackish brown. A tan one finger head that sat for a while before whittling down to foam. Nice lacing.

S: Chocolate and espresso fill the bill. Dessert in a glass.

T: Sweet, milky. Dark chocolate blends well with espresso in a very drinkable concoction. Smooth and delicious.

M: Medium to heavy with thick frothy carbonation.

O: Now I see why people were getting a scoop of ice cream in their pint glasses. One of Abita's better offerings. Great with anything chocolate. Decadent.

Serving type: on-tap
