Since I didn't review, here goes...

Pours mahogany with a thumb of mocha colored head. Pretty good head retention & lacing

S: Coffee, little vanilla

T: Coffee, mocha& more coffee up front. Dryness, lactose sourness, some char as this warms. Finishes with coffee grind & dryness; plus some lactose

MF: :Lght/medium bodied, lively carbonation. Thins a little as this warms

This was better on draft, but not shabby at all

Growler filled at Hudson Valley Bev. in Mahopac, NY

Pours near black, under a quickly fading mocha head. Leaves a quality tiny bubble film and sheets and strands of fine lacing.

Mild nose of milk chocolate and dulled coffee notes.

Super smooth and soft on the tongue. More chocolate, faint coffee on the palate and perhaps a hint of cherry shining through Moderate sweetness. Nicely done

Tasty and easy drinking, I'd like to give this a try with some chocolate dessert...one of the best brews I've had from Abita

Abita Select coffee milk stout served at the Ponce de Leon Beer Fest.

Dark clear brown body with a small head that soon reduces to a ring.

Body is a too light and, perhaps, over-carbonated.

Sweet milt stout character gets dominated by the strong black coffee aroma and flavor.

O: for coffee lovers only. This coffee stout suffered by comparison in pretty much every way to a Founders Breakfast Stout consumed right afterwards (but that's not quite a fair comparison). [Slightly revised with full 22oz bottle in March 2015].

Nose is great. Flavors are good. But thin, I'm convinced stouts need to hit 7% to have the right mouth feel.

A- pours a dark brown, witha billowing 2 finger head that's the color of french vanilla. Lingers awhile and remains thick.
S- Other than the espresso beans and coffee aroma, nothing much else comes to the forefront.
T- Nice, roasty flavor with the coffee/espresso flavor coming through in just the right amount. Awesome balance on the coffee. A bit of smokiness is present as well. Slight roasty bitterness on the back end. This is just a great tasting beer.
M- Really light for a stout, bordering on light to medium with a decent amount of carbonation.
O- I really enjoyed this beer. A pleasant surprise from Abita!

From a bomber into a stout/porter glass.

Quite foamy with the head, which looks like the froth on a coffee milkshake. Body is dark black. About what you'd want and expect in a good stout.

Smells of deep espresso with some dark chocolate accompaniment. Sweet creamy vanilla and caramel make me think of one of those Starbucks drinks. Overall it's a good balance of bold coffee and sweetness.

Man this just tastes like cold-brewed coffee with some sweet creamer. I could probably sip this at work and get away with it. Only a floral spicy flavor on the finish and some maltiness clue me to the fact I'm drinking a beer. There is something about the finish that tastes especially lager-like, heavy on floral and grassy hops with that pungent malt combination and this seems a tad off. Pleasantly, more dark chocolate flavor sticks to my palate as I drink more and more of the brew.

This beer is refreshing though. Incredibly easy-drinking, smooth, and coffee-like in feel. Part of me wants to ask for a thicker body, but this is just so enjoyable to drink that I can overlook it.

Man, this is the most delicious offering from Abita that I've had in quite some time. As light and easy-drinking as it is, it really belongs in a six-pack. Abita, can you make that happen?

I've had a lot of stouts. Milk stouts, espresso stouts, coffee stouts, outmeal stouts, you name it. Most of them are awesome.

This one smells and tastes like cigarette butts. Thinking I was crazy, I let a friend (a fellow craft brew enthusiast) do a blind taste test. "WTF? Is this a Cigarette Stout?"

Stay away from this one.

Holy coffee aroma! Represents well in the flavor, as well, while also carrying nice notes of sweet chocolate and cream.

Smooth ligh body, very drinkable. One of the best beers by Abita I've ever had.

The taste is coffee and dark chocolate.
The texture is smooth.
A great brew.

Reminds me more of a coffee porter than a stout like a Ballast Point Victory at Sea almost. Regardless for the price I would be happy to drink this again. Great job Abita. I highly recommend you try it at least once.

220z bottle poured into a snifter

A- pours a very dark brown color with a one-finger foamy khaki colored head that retains nicely well after the pour, leaving just a trace of lacing behind as it settles

S- lactose sweetness in the aroma up front, followed by espresso beans, chocolate and dark toasted malts, trace of vanilla

T- bitter coffee balanced by sweet lactose up front, cocoa powder and whipping cream kick in mid-palate, before finishing sweet with more espresso flavor on the linger

M- medium body and carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that holds through to a creamy finish, high drinkability

O- nice coffee stout that is enhanced by the lactose sweetness, pretty good price point as well

Enjoyed from the bomber in a snifter. This impressive stout pours a deep dark brown (lightly black) with a substantial light tan head of dissipating foam that dies down to a thin pool and a thick ring with spotted lacing. Nose of thick oily coffee, sweet cream, dark bakers chocolate, vanilla, charred notes, and heavily roasted malts. Flavors follow the nose with a very coating, moderately oily coffee and chocolate flavor. Burnt coffee mingles with sweet cream to the middle of the taste with a smoky, charred, moderate vanilla note. Lot's of heavy handed roasting in this one. Moderate carbonation, very slick mouth feel is lightly lifted by the carbonation making is rather easy to drink. Finishes burnt but satisfying. A very nice sweet stout.

Poured from a brown 22 oz. bottle. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is strong of coffee. Taste is espresso, roasted malts, more coffee. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall an enjoyable beer, and one made for coffee lovers.

22 ounce bottle, stamp says best by 01/08/16. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head that stuck around a while. There's also a lot of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like espresso, bittersweet and milk chocolate, lactose, and some roasted/burnt malt and oats/oatmeal. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also the addition of some caramel flavor. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's creamy and a bit coating with a good amount of carbonation. It's also smooth and goes down easy. Overall I liked this, I thought it was a good espresso/milk stout. I'll have to pick up another bottle the next time I go pick up some brews! $5.99 a bomber.

22 ounce bomber poured into a shaker pint

A: Black, when held up to the light turns ruby red around the edges, nice creamy off white head with lots of tiny bubbles, Pretty intense lacing for a coffee stout, looks good.

A: Fresh ground coffee right up front, nice roasted malt aromas, no alcohol on the nose, one of the beer's strengths.

T: Coffee bitterness up front, nice roasted bitter flavors in the middle, roasted malts, finishes dry, picking up the lactose sweetness, very nice flavors.

M: It's a little thin, but really creamy, definitely getting that sticky lactose sweetness mouthfeel throughout, finishes dry and bitter, as it should for a coffee stout, nice creamy head texture.

O: I am impressed, as a stout and coffee lover, this is really good. Not quite a big beer, reminds of Stone's Coffee Milk Stout, but this has a little more kick to it at 6% ABV, I would definitely drink this more often if available in six-packs. It's a little thin and not as smooth as I would like, but really good beer. Do you love stouts and coffee? Then this is definitely worth a try.

look: Dark brown with cola highlights. Full mocha head and study lacing.
smell: As advertised if a little on the light side. I would have expected richer. Coffee, roast, a hint of chocolate.
taste: much like the nose. Nice but a bit watered down.
overall: Decent brew, not a standout imo.

Had on-tap at Avenue Pub New Orleans. Served in a cask glass.

A- Pours a mostly opaque black color with a 1/2 inch tan head that retains a bit before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a full sheet of surface foam. Resilient lacing hangs on the glass a good while.

S- Very good espresso aroma with some chocolate and vanilla interspersed.

T- Flavor follows the nose pretty closely but there's more nuttiness and vanilla than in the smell. Very easy to drink though and the coffee holds steady with the dark roast makes for a nice counterbalance to the chocolatey sweetness.

M- Not very viscous for a stout. Medium carbonation and a fullish body.

O- Though the mouthfeel wasn't exactly what I was looking for, this hit all the right marks otherwise. I've been highly anticipating this for months ever since I heard they were coming out with it and I'm pleased with the result. The coffee flavor is fresh, vibrant and of good quality.

Abita Macchiato Espresso Stout has a thick, cream-colored head, a milky, brown appearance, and thin, splotchy lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of coffee, cream, dark-roasted malts, and celery. Taste is of sweet cream, coffee, dark malts, moderate bitterness, and some char. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Abita Macchiato Espresso Stout finishes somewhat powdery and highly drinkable.

A: poured into a nonic pint to a black beer with a dense and rocky two finger light tan head that has excellent staying power and solid lacing.
S: lots of coffee on the nose with some slight roasted malt and chocolate
T: taste is sweet chocolate with a good bit of coffee and some roasted malt flavors. slight caramel sweetness as well. swallow is more coffee and roasted malt with some bitter dark chocolate.
M: lighter than expected on the palate. this beer is about a medium with carbonation that's slightly prickly and a little excessive. the beer has a fairly refreshing and non drying finish
O: Looks, smells, and tastes the part but the mouthfeel takes it down a few pegs. Without all the carbonation this would be an outstanding brew. this beer has decent complexity and very good flavors but it feels thin.

Pours a deep dark brown, lighter hues around the edges. Big tan brown head sits a top. Huge coffee aroma. Taste is coffee bitterness, sweet chocolate, big espresso flavor. Mouthfeel was rather light and felt over carbonated. Overall, I'm a big coffee stout fan, and this was very enjoyable. Abita did a great job on this one.

Foundry, Northampton on tap.

A- Black bodied ale from the tap to the becher with a tan, foamy crown. Decent head retention as a thick belt drops only a few small spots of lace.

S- Roasty and toasty aromatics from the beans and grains. Seems like a medium roast with hints of deeply roast barley and cocoa powder.

T- Coffee is most of the experience with a clean and roasty flavor. Slight lactose sweetness, caramel feel like a brulee almost, cocoa powder and toasted nuts also come to mind.

MF- Very silky overall with a somewhat creamy consistency. Despite the lactose it feels somewhat thin.

Smooth but kind of a single note experience with the coffee. That being said the beans are fresh and well done.
