this grapefruit harvest ipa is one of the best things from abita that ive had. color is a nice gold with a slight haze. the smell of this beer is fantastic- there is a ton of grapfruit in the nose and is morphs into hops and back to grapefruit again. the hopy ipa and the grapefruit go really great together. the taste also pairs the grapefruit bitter sweet with the bitter from the hops really well. there seems to be a bit of zest in the flavor that i havnt had in other grapefruit beers. i really like this grapefruit ipa and i am gonna make sure to pick some more up.

A-Pours a hazy golden orange color. Thin, white foamy cap. Light lacing.
S-Artificial grapefruit comes to me first; a tangy, man made grapefruit. Hops are discernible from the previous aroma. More citrus and some grass. A very cookie cutter malt.
T-Flavor has a bunch of that fake grapefruit here as well. Behind it is a pretty softly built IPA. Bready malt and a hop character that is mostly citrus with some very light pine.
M-Feel is rather light and bubbly. A lingering stickiness.
O/D-Not a fan, the grapefruit seems fake to me. Shame on me for not trusting my gut with this one.s

16oz draft poured into pint at Lures
A-Clear golden color with a medium off-white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing.
S-Citrus, hops and malt in the nose.
T-A mildly bitter grapefruity hops character with toasted malt behind it.
M-Light to medium body the finish is lightly hoppy with a citrus aftertaste
O-Decent IPA overall

Bottle > Pint Glass
A - Clear yellow with a finger of white foamy head, little spots of lacing.
S - Lots of grapefruit juice, I mean lots, very floral and bready malt.
T - Grapefruit juice, a little grass, floral notes, bready, tart, but all kinda lame
M - Fades fast, light a little bready.
O - Its ok, definitely lots of grapefruit, but its lackluster.

A: Lack of head is key here. Any head pored dissipates quickly.
S: Is this grapefruit juice? Strong Grapefruit-y smell.
T: You know how the white part of a grapefruit tastes? That's how this tastes. Bitter hops. Pilsner rice taste,
M: Works for me. Crisp. Fresh taste. Does not dissipate. Stays on the tongue for quite a bit of time.
O: good. Memorable. Not trying to drink this everyday. This is a once in a great while sort of thing. Too much like a bitter pilsner than anything else.
