Poured into a shaker pint glass.
The beer is a rich crystal clear copper color. A bubbly white head dissipates to a tight film, while only minimal lines of lacing remain on the glass.
There is a spiciness about the aroma leading to a malty backbone with an herbal finish.
The taste has some cereal grains in it, malty sweetness, and a pretty boozy finish.
The mouthfeel is pretty heavy, dry.
Overall: I pretty much liked everything about this except the taste. And the ABV really comes out.

Trying the abita abductors at the Pie Factory in Florance, AL. The beer poured a clear golden with white head that left a lace. The scent was faint with hints of grass and biscuit. The taste was very strong leaning toward grassy peat bread. The m outhfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall the beer didn't hit the mark for me.

Have wanted to try this, spotted some locally and jumped at the chance. Best by 8/2014 clear on the bottle's neck.
A -- Clear, deep gold with a large, dense, long-lasting, egg shell colored head that leaves nice lacing -- a very pretty beer and solid to style.
S -- Sweet malts and spicy alcohol.
T -- Rich, sweet maltiness with some peppery alcohol bite, but not overwhelming. Light toasty breadiness and mild fruitiness from rich malts. Vaguest hop bitterness in the finish.
M -- Mouthfeel is soft to dry with a medium-full body.
O -- A surprisingly nice take on the style. Goes to show that breweries can surprise you out of the blue. Anyone who likes German-style beers should try this one.
