Abita's malt liquor entry is above average for this category. It has a very thin head (typical for this style), a very cloudy, golden appearance (atypical for this type of beer), and a citrus aroma. This beer has a tangy, alcohol taste, with quite a sting to it. Mouth feel is very harsh, making me want to take very small sips. Overall, I'd say this is a fine drink to have occasionally with hogs head cheese and crackers or a salad.

Served in a big, frosty litre mug at my local watering hole - The Baltic... my kinda beer, not too hoppy, sweet but not too sweet and enough but not too much aroma to keel you over the next day. ... a huge kick, too.... yummy....If you're in the East Bay and wanna good beer at a reasonable price.... Try The Baltic for happy hour...
