Nothing like a helles bock to welcome the Spring weather. Hopefully I enjoy this more than others before me.
Pours well for a two finger thick head, and has a cloudy light amber colored body. I'll knock this down from a 5, due to the excess yeast left behind.
Aroma wise this is on par for the style: light honey, metallic hops, some earthiness, and a hint of lemony hops too.
Starts off as husky grain, but takes a nose dive with a bit of a yeasty funk. Clean this beer up! Get a better filtration system damn it.
Feels nicely carbonated and moist all the way through. Kind of nice for a higher ABV beer.
Altogether I think if you get rid of the residual yeast, this brew would hold its own against any German made Maibock.

Served in a big, frosty litre mug at my local watering hole - The Baltic... my kinda beer, not too hoppy, sweet but not too sweet and enough but not too much aroma to keel you over the next day. ... a huge kick, too.... yummy....If you're in the East Bay and wanna good beer at a reasonable price.... Try The Baltic for happy hour...
