Pale yellow with little white lacing. Looks similar to a pale ale. By the look of the beer, I think they misused the term Doppelbock.
It definitely smells like a bock, and wonderfully so - lots of buttery, carmely, German maltiness in the nose and, suprisingly, not too much booze.
The taste is rather empty. There are some good malty flavors, but they're too light and all seem to gravitate around the alcohol. It's almost the opposite of the smell.
For being relatively light bodied, this beer needs more carbonation.

Served in a big, frosty litre mug at my local watering hole - The Baltic... my kinda beer, not too hoppy, sweet but not too sweet and enough but not too much aroma to keel you over the next day. ... a huge kick, too.... yummy....If you're in the East Bay and wanna good beer at a reasonable price.... Try The Baltic for happy hour...
