Notes/Commercial Description:
Andygator, a creature of the swamp, is a unique high-gravity brew made with pale malt, German lager yeast, and German Perle hops. While this beer is a pale yellow color, it definitely appears to be pretty thick. The head is bone white and sustains one finger's height for the duration, dropping quite slowly and never fully, as the strong half-finger or so that lasts the entire session leaves behind deposits of lace that spread some legs and cling in heavy spotting.
I didn't know what do expect from this beer, and I'm not sure what to think of it. Ultimately, it's pretty good, but it's extremely unusual. The nose brings out lots of floral, not quite leafy or grassy hops but with elements of both in a softer type of earthiness. There's some honey-like sweetness running through. The 8% is well masked.
The honey note runs strongly through with a little malts support along with the floral hops. The dryer taste of the pilsner malt is much more strongly evidenced.
It's smooth with a solid crispness in a medium body and some sort of thickness to it; it's not viscous, per se, but on the heavier side despite the crisp, clean effect.

Light golden with a frothy head.

Light fruit (pear?) and a subtle floral hop note.

Cheerios, sugar, pear, biscuit, cracker, floral hops.

Clean, crisp mouthfeel.

Clean and basic, but quite drinkable. Perhaps lacking in uniqueness, but nicely balanced and a good example of the style. Pretty enjoyable.
