Strawberry Harvest Lager is a wheat beer made with real Louisiana strawberries, picked late in the season when they’re at their sweetest. This brew has earned quite a reputation in a short time, causing the brewery to up their production year after year. When this brew is found, emails and phone calls fly to friends informing them of the store’s location. Strawberry Harvest is a crisp, light lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness.

Poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint.

A=Very light yellow and cloudy...light color was not appealing to me, probably because I was expecting more of a reddish tint...actually a merky greenish yellow.

S=Not much...slight whiff of strawberries.

T=A lot lighter than I anticipated...the wheat aspect was not clear to me when I purchased it, but does come on rather strong. Hint of strawberries, but natural and not overpowering.

M=Drinkable, but much lighter than I anticpated...very nice summer session beer. Minimal carbonation.

O=I enjoyed this beer, despite it being lighter in body and flavor than anticpated, and having wheat, which I typically don't care for. Worth trying if you like fruit and wheat beers...not sure that I will purchase again, but I am looking forward to drinking the rest of the 6-pack during hot summer nights.

Picked up a single of this at my local deli/take-out beer store. Looking forward to this one.

Appearance: Hazy golden color with some lacing that left the glass a nice under inch of head. Pretty average for a lager, but slightly impressive.

Smell: Nicely placed hops and a nice undertone of strawberry thats not overwhelming nor artificial. Good call in that field.

Taste: Actually was a surprising refreshing. Nice mixture of well-balanced hops and strawberry aftertaste that actually kind of reminded me of the soda lol. Actually wasn't bad and had a almost dessert-like character. I also tasted a hint of vanilla? Pretty damn good.

Mouthfeel: Not too bad. Medium body, medium carbonation. I enjoyed it. Crisp if I must say.

Overall: This is a summer-time beer I enjoyed and will continue to enjoy. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a nice fruit flavored beer. Not bad atall. Something that was very refreshing on a hot summer night.

A: Pours a pale yellow with a white foamy head with decent retention and spotty lacing.

S: Some strawberry and vanilla upfront, but it is quickly replaced with a dirty/sweaty sock aroma.

T: Some candy flavored strawberries and vanilla, reminds me of a strawberry good humor bar. Finish actually has a decent amount of corn flavor.

M: Light to medium bodied with high carbonation, rather fizzy.

O: Heard good things, but not really a fan of this. Would not pick it up again.

A: clear honey-colored body, one-finger head that lasts for a while, lots of lacing

S: not much of anything

T: where the strawberry really comes out - strong but pleasant strawberry taste, sweet but not overwhelmingly so

M: almost jammy in taste with good texture. Carbonation is appropriate to the beer type, small champagne-type bubbles

O: very good refreshing summer beer - absolutely worth having again

Strawberry Harvest Lager pours a lighter straw color. Looks a tad hazy. Backlighting gives it a brighter yellow color. A soft white head tops it. It rises to maybe half a finger in height before falling quickly. Lacing is so light that it’s barely worth mention. It’s very light and spotty. Eh. It doesn’t look bad. Not exactly good either.

The nose is below average. It’s very weak. Needs more in the aromatics department. It starts out with a rather earthy, grainy scent. It’s prominent throughout. There are some berry notes. They don’t smell overly strong though. Smells a tad buttery. Alcohol is absolutely buried. I’m not getting any. Not too surprising given the style and size. Eh. Needs a little work.

The flavor is pretty average. It’s definitely earthy and grainy throughout. It’s a rather prominent presence, but isn’t overtly bad. It has a somewhat sweet berry flavor. It’s not bad, but isn’t exactly good either. It’s easily noted, but isn’t overly strong. That’s a good thing. I’m not a huge fan of fruity beer, and this definitely seems to resemble beer first and foremost. At the secondary level, it seems buttery, grassy, and bready. Alcohol is very light and is not noticeable. Overall, it’s average. Not bad, but not quite good either.

Strawberry Harvest Lager has a lighter body. Carbonation seems a tad active and crisp. It’s not smooth, but it’s not a bad feel. Honestly, the feel might be its strongest characteristic. It might be pretty tolerable on a warm or hot day.

Strawberry Harvest Lager is average beer at best. It doesn’t feature very strong aromatics or a notable flavor. It’s not a complete disaster, but it doesn’t do anything very well either. I’m not a fan of the buttery flavor that seems to linger throughout. Eh. Worth a try? Maybe. If you’re into fruity beer, yeah…probably so.

Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager is a hazy, sparkling very pale golden lager with a small white head that vanishes very quickly. It has a faint aroma of fruit and grass. It smells like a wet barrel. There's a little sweetness in the nose and strawberries are detected. It's light bodied and lively; smooth with a clean finish. It's very lightly flavored. Strawberry jam is the primary flavor. It's just a little bit sweet and not bitter at all. This is barely beer, but it's fun to drink. This is one of those things you can just slam out in the hot sun.

12 oz bottle, 4.2% abv. Best before 9/5/12. Clear straw color, with a thin white head. The head fades rather quickly, leaving a spot or two of lace. Tiny bubbles show some active carbonation.

Cereal grain malts and a faint strawberry aroma. The berry Aroma is juicy and ripe, which is a plus.

Clean, cereal malt. Strawberry flavor comes through quickly with a nice amount of ripeness. Strawberry fades into a faint vanilla. A slight drying feel at the end. Not very sweet here overall, which is nice.

Lighter body, with a refreshing amount of carbonation. Alcohol is a non-factor. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I expected an artificial strawberry flavor, but this seemed much more ripe and juicy.
