This beer poured out as a golden color with a fizzy white head on top. The body was clear looking with some bubbles rising as random times. The look of the beer doesn't have too much going for it. The smell is a little grainy with some sweet malts on the nose. The taste of the beer doesn't have a whole lot going on in my opinion. The flavors of this beer are rather basic but remain refreshing. The mouthfeel is light and bubbly. Overall, I think the beer was a really nice idea to help out New Orleans after the hurricane. I feel that it was a beer that they wanted to keep at an affordable so people would be able to help out as much as possible. I don't feel that this beer was made to impress a lot of people. I feel that it was meant to be just a fund raiser and I think they did a nice job at that.

Bottle on 01/21/2006.
Poured a clear amber hue with a huge frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Good balanced malt and hop and grain aroma. Medium body with thin texture. Light sweet grainy flavor in a light finish of short to average duration.
To soft of a close.

oured a medium golden color with an averaged sized white head. I really didn't get too much our of the aromas and tastes. Some cardboard, maybe some malts and citrus. I had to reach deep to really get anything. Not offensive, but just not much there for me. Thinner body.

The aroma is a blend of hops, (floral, herbal, and grassy) along with lemon and malt. The appearance is golden with a nice size head. The flavor is buttery, bread-like, grassy, and hoppy without being very bitter. The aftertaste is slightly peppery. It's quite drinkable and you get to help a good cause too.

Got this one out of the beer journal. I had this in bottle form acquired from a cajun restaurant named Jazz in Oxford, AL. Poured into a pint glass.
A: Poured a nice golden color with a bit of a haze to it. A good sized head receded to batch of rings that remained for the entire beverage. Attempts to provide some lace, but nothing special.
S: Smells of sweet malt, hops, grains and citrus fruit peels.
T: Very clean and earthy. Tastes of breads, hops, grains, with a bit of malt and citrus. Really enjoyable.
M: A nice crisp brew. The carbonation makes for a very refreshing beverage.
D: Very drinkable. I really liked this beer and have been disappointed that I haven't found it again in this form or the new Restoration. These went down easy and were very pleasing.

A - Pours a clear orange color with some white head which dissipates quickly.
S - Nose is very flowery - which always makes me nervous.
T - The taste however, was quite nice. I wouldn't say it was full of hops, but the floral hops and malts combination made for a well balanced smooth drink.
M - Like I said, it was smooth and easy going. Enjoyable.
D - Despite my accolades, if I can't imagine or if I am not craving another one, I can't say a beer is too drinkable. And such is the case with this one.

A: Very small and bubbly head poured off this beer. The bnottle had attempted to look fancy but the colors are too muted for my taste. Looking at the color of the liquid, it almost looks like someone swapped my beer for a sunkist.
S: A mild citrusy hop aroma is all I detect at first. There is some spicier/herbal aroma that I can't nail down.
T: Very watery and bitter from the hops. This beer sems to be very simple yet still not adequately balanced. This is in a brown bottle but it was purchased months before at Mardi Gras so it might have skunked a bit.
M: Very watery with a mildly unpleasant hoppy herbal presence.
D: This beer claims $1 from each sixer sold goes to help rebuild New Orleans. Given the bottle isn't flashing and the beer itself does not encourage repeat business, I am worried for the fate of this money raising campaign. Perhaps this is why they retired the beer?
