Bottle (best by 1/29/09) poured into a pint glass.
A- It poured with a 1 finger tan head that quickly fell to a full lace that left really good sticky spots on the glass. The body was a clean, copper color with light-medium carbonation.
S- It was malt forward with mostly caramel initially and a slight medicinal twang. Nut features came out with some warmth.
T- Initially, it had roasty and slightly burnt malts. The flavor mellows after a few sips. Nut characteristics seem quite slight, yet a little more present with warmth.
M- Medium carbonation provides a decent bite. It had a slight coating effect.
D- It's a pretty good drinker. It could be a nice fall session beer. It doesn't have a huge "wow" factor.
Overall- It's a very run-of-the-mill beer. The pecan harvest name gave me really high hopes for a nutty flavor and really "raw" feel. Not a bad beer, just a tad uninspired.
