Notes/Commercial Description:
Pecan Harvest Ale is made with real Louisiana pecans that have been toasted to perfection. That makes it something really special, because most beers with a nutty flavor or aroma aren’t made with real nuts. The natural oils from the Louisiana pecans give the ale a light pecan finish and aroma.

Poured into a Ninkasi Brewing pint glass. Bottleneck says Best By 01/16/13.

A- Pours a dark amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that doesn't retain well before becoming a thin ring around the edge of the glass and half a sheet of surface foam. Slippery slivers of lacing.

S- Toasty, nutty aroma brings about notes of pecan (naturally), hazelnut and toffee. Somewhat sweet.

T- Flavor is also toasty and has more of a vanilla characteristic than the nose. More hazelnut notes but that's about it. Overall profile lacks much depth. Light alcohol.

M- Not as full as the flavor implies with medium-low carbonation and a thin body.

O- Kind of reminds me of Turbodog light. Easy to drink but not enjoyable unless in a party setting where the flavor of the drink takes a backseat to the social aspect.

Appearance: pours a nearly 1" off white head that dissipates rapidly leaving significant lacing. Color is amber, minimal amount of carbonation bubbles streaming up.
Aroma: love the smell of this one. Malty caramel, yeasty bread, and nutty pecans with a hint of the hops in the nose as well.
Mouthfeel: fairly light bodied and watery with a pleasant finish that leaves me ready for the next sip.
Flavor: echoes the aroma with a wonderful combination of the caramel malt flavors, the nutty flavor of the roasted pecans, and a mild hop bite at the end.
Overall: Excellent and delicious.
