Poured from 12oz bottle.
A- Pours a coppery amber color. Half finger off white head forms from hard pour and shows poor retention. No lacing on the sides of the glass.
S- Bready caramel malts with no real other aromas that creep up or anything. There is some muted nutty aroma but it is so far in the background it really doesn't matter.
T- Caramel malts in the front end are very bready. This pretty much lends itself over the entire beer and no other flavors dominate it at any given point in time. Light nutty flavor once again is muted but only shows up in the final part of the beer for a split second.
M- Light-medium mouthfeel. Carbonation was high but I expect that from Abita beers. Caramel malts dominate everything from the palate to the aftertaste. Flavors were unbalanced to what the style was. No off flavors though were present which was nice. Light alcohol drying on the palate.
D- This beer was drinkable but not enjoyable. A good malt bomb I suppose but only if you like the sweet caramel malts just rushing at you. I would like to see more pecans or nutty flavor to this beer and I think it would work out nice. A overall drain pour if I hadn't have split it with a friend.
