Jockamo I.P.A. is a traditional India Pale Ale made with the best pale and light crystal malts that give the beer a copper color and malty flavor. This full-flavored beer is hopped and dry hopped liberally with Willamette and Columbus hops from the Pacific Northwest and has a 6.5% A.B.V. The spicy aroma of the hops contrasts nicely with the pleasant sweetness of the malts. Jockamo has a flavor that entices and excites the palate.

Into a pint glass from a 12 oz. bottle, the Jockamo pours a clear orange golden in color, sporting an inch or so of lightly off white foam. A light carbonation just about keeps up as for head retention, holding a light surface film.
Spicy earthen hop nose with some more tenuous herbal/floral notes. Husky grain with a touch of sweetness. Light overall, more reminiscent of an APA.
Malts more prominent in the taste, with a light citrus flavor. Bitterness is light, and the texture is coarse and bready. Light to moderate malt structure, and complexity, for the style. Decent feel and drink as the carbonation, though light, does maintain for the pint and works well with the light malt structure. Decent brew with a bit of a roasted character on the finish. No drawbacks yet nothing too exciting, kind of like the girl next door.

Picked up an Abita variety pack in cans from the liquor store. I am a sucker for juicy IPA's. This one was pretty good, but it honestly tastes like a slightly worse "Juicy Bits" from Weldwerks.

Just not much going on. Looks hazy enough, and bubbly enough, but not much on the nose or palate. I guess ‘okay’ is about right for another Abita effort.
