Poured into a Magic Hat #9 pint glass. Bottom of can says Best By: 8/2/12. Whoops.
A- Pours a medium amber color with a full inch of beige head that retains a good while leaving sudsy cobwebs of lacing. It finally settles at a 1/4 inch head with a craggy surface of foam.
S- Very pungent hops that are more herbal and spicy than anything. Has a solid twang that's very earthy, almost barnyard-like. Quite unique.
T- Wet grass flavor with a bitterness that's very aggressive, yet different so it's interesting to take multiple sips in a row to see how it assaults the palate. Peppery spiciness throughout.plus notes of pine.
M- Dry with a lingering hop bite. Medium carbonation and a full-ish body. .
O- It's obvious that a different variety or blend of hops was used in creating this because there is no other IPA that has the same profile as Jockamo. Truly one of a kind and quite tasty as well. It also has held up well past its freshness date. It being in a can most likely contributed to that.

The appearance of this IPA is actually quite stunning in a highly carbonated, cheap sort of way. The head was a tower of ivory foam with a dense cap. The body was a glowing, brassy color of copper but it was obscured by a torrent of tiny bubbles that clung to the glass.
The nose presents a strong malt base with caramel, tea leaves and barley. The hop scent is old world floral with hints of lemon, pine and grapefruit.
The flavor matches the scent nearly identically. Strong malt base, maybe tea leaf, with a floral, pine, tinges of lemon and a pithy grapefruit.
The feel is dry but it has almost no carbonated bite, despite the appearance.
Very simple IPA with stronger Pale Ale qualities than hop profile.
