First-ever beer from this brewery, located down in Louisiana...
Copped a single, 12 oz bottle from Super Saver in Somerville for less than two bucks...
Very impressive pour, yielding a light-copper, slightly auburn color with a gigantic foamy and frothy head that left a copious amount of lacing...
Nice, hoppy, fresh IPA smell, bursting with florals, and a tinge of vanilla...
Taste was laid-back and slightly subdued for an IPA with a 6.5% ABV... was kind of expecting more, but was somewhat surpised at the lack of complexity and mediocore flavors dominating this one...
Decent mouthfeel, but slightly watered down and non-descript...
Drinkability was easy though, due to the fact that no alcohol was detected in the taste...
Not the best depiction of the style I've encountered, but worth a shot...

The appearance of this IPA is actually quite stunning in a highly carbonated, cheap sort of way. The head was a tower of ivory foam with a dense cap. The body was a glowing, brassy color of copper but it was obscured by a torrent of tiny bubbles that clung to the glass.
The nose presents a strong malt base with caramel, tea leaves and barley. The hop scent is old world floral with hints of lemon, pine and grapefruit.
The flavor matches the scent nearly identically. Strong malt base, maybe tea leaf, with a floral, pine, tinges of lemon and a pithy grapefruit.
The feel is dry but it has almost no carbonated bite, despite the appearance.
Very simple IPA with stronger Pale Ale qualities than hop profile.
