Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into an oversized, stemless wineglass.
A: Very interesting color. Very honey like, beautiful amber color. Quite dark for an IPA, but its a really nice color. It's not very cloudy either. Nice head, little retention, minimal lacing.
S: Malty and piney. Smells nutty as well, but quite malty. Not very typical aromas for an IPA, but not unwelcome.
T: Malty. It's quite odd for an IPA again, not unwelcome, but very different from most IPAs. It's not a nice pine-like flavor, very savory. I typically like my IPAs to be lighter and citrusy to link the bitter flavors, but this quite different.
M: Nice and bubbly at first, but smooth going down. Feels nice, really drinkable. A bit of a sour feeling after its down, but overall quite nice.
O: Solid IPA, quite different from most in this style. Feels more like a lager really. I have a 6 pack of this and will be happy to finish it this week.

The appearance of this IPA is actually quite stunning in a highly carbonated, cheap sort of way. The head was a tower of ivory foam with a dense cap. The body was a glowing, brassy color of copper but it was obscured by a torrent of tiny bubbles that clung to the glass.
The nose presents a strong malt base with caramel, tea leaves and barley. The hop scent is old world floral with hints of lemon, pine and grapefruit.
The flavor matches the scent nearly identically. Strong malt base, maybe tea leaf, with a floral, pine, tinges of lemon and a pithy grapefruit.
The feel is dry but it has almost no carbonated bite, despite the appearance.
Very simple IPA with stronger Pale Ale qualities than hop profile.
