Real Louisiana Satsumas, golden wheat, oats and the finest barley create Abita Satsuma Harvest Wit. Pale and cloudy, like the haze on a hot summer day, this white beer has a sweet and subtle citrus flavor with a touch of spice that is cool and refreshing.

Cheap single, why not give it a try... never heard of a satsuma before today, pretty cool history it has in Louisiana.
It pours a hazy pastel yellow orange color, with a compact head of white foam. Spotty lacing froths up and sticks all around the insides of the glass. Retention is pretty good, as the skim never breaks across the surface.
Dull wheaty aroma, wet grain, saltine cracker, earthy coriander. Hard to pick out any citrus at all unfortunately.
Flavor is similarly muted, some breadiness and honey notes in toward the end with some coriander again towards the end, a peppery tingle in the finish. Again not much citrus here to speak of. Feel is soft and mellow from the wheat, but the low carbonation isn't doing it any favors, it feels a bit flabby. Middle of the road Witbier, not one to revisit, maybe worth trying again if absolutely sure it's a fresh bottle.
