A thin white soapy head that dissipates quickly and a slightly hazy amber body. The smell is of moderate sweet malt and herbal hops, but has an unpleasant skunk character to it. Luckily, the skunk is not present in the taste, but there is a nice roastiness as well as plenty of sweetness to the malt. The hops are very low profile, not jumping out much, but they are noticeably herbal in character. A slight apple taste is evident as well, seeming to come from a blend of malt and hop character. The crisp carbonation combines with this to give a somewhat cider-like essence to the beer. As the beer warms more off flavors become evident, including a sourness, that while moderate, is unpleasant nevertheless.
Overall this is a easy drinking vienna style lager, not hoppy but full of malt flavor and more complex than you would expect. With so many better options that are just as easy to get and in my opinion much better, I doubt that I would ever return to this one.
