Amber is a Munich style lager brewed with crystal malt and Perle hops. It has a smooth, malty, slightly caramel flavor and a rich amber color. Abita Amber was the first beer offered by the brewery and continues to be our leading seller.

Appearance: light clear amber with a big head
Smell: some wood and malt...The smell is faint
Taste: light and sweet hops, some small burnt caramel
Mouthfeel: light, sweet, a bit watery, with a slightly bitter finish
Drinkability: As an american amber, I believe I would score this a C+, as a marzen, there are so much better. The flavor is faint at best. I will not be looking for this again.

Having this beer right after having the Shellring Ale Works Arias Amber Lager, really opened my eyes to the fact that I do not like amber/red lagers. This one did taste better than the Shellring one however.

draft pour into pint glass. light amber with a finger of khaki colored foam head. floral and bready on the nose and taste. malt forward but still light and drinkable. almost perfumey on the nose. really tasty. medium-full mouthfeel. this was quite good.

Too bitter for an amber, in my estimation. I typically go to an amber lager for more flavor than what Abita is providing, here. This may go better when paired with a New Orleans meal on Bourbon Street, as the bottle emphasizes their Louisiana origins.

My expectations were low, but much better than I expected. Very flavorful compared to most "amber lagers," but still pretty boring.

Bottom of the can says 23094 so...94th day of 2023?
It pours a beautiful clear deep amber with a healthy head of foam, nice lacing.
The smell is grainy malt, fruity, sweet, perhaps, some oxidation going on.
The taste is grainy, oxidation definitely there as in a maltiness that is on the older side. No real bitterness, more sweet and cardboard like flavours.
Good mouthfeel. Too bad that this is old.

Toasty, bready, light caramel, toffee, earthy hops. Great amber lager

12 ounce bottle poured into a ahaker pint glass. No date found on the bottle. Pours an amber color similar to tea. Nice white head of foam that surprisingly lingers. Slight whiff of grains but no distinguishing aroma . The taste is nothing out of the ordinary. Tastes like a good Louisiana beer should. Very refreshing.

Visiting my son in rural Southeast Louisiana. Purchased a six pack of 12 oz bottles at local drive thru liquor store. This beer is relatively cheap and available everywhere in Louisiana. Poured into a chilled pint glass it delivers an off white head, lots of lacing, and lovely amber color. Perfectly carbonated. With a terrible head cold I can smell and taste nothing. This is the perfect beer if you are in Louisiana, are on a budget, and have a cold.
