Turbodog is a dark brown ale brewed with Willamette hops and a combination of pale, crystal and chocolate malts. This combination gives Turbodog its rich body and color and a sweet chocolate toffee-like flavor. Turbodog began as a specialty ale but has gained a huge loyal following and has become one of our flagship brews.

The appearance was opaque, as far as I could tell.

The smell was good, and you could catch a whiff of toffee.

The taste was average for what it was, with a bitter aftertaste.

This beer had a thick, smooth mouthfeel.

Overall, it was well made but not my style.

I took notes on my phone, so I'm not writing this as I drink it

A: Served in a beaker a black color with some light coming through it and a frothy two finger tan head on top.

S: Rich chocolate and caramel malt aroma with some molasses and chicory aromas. Some brown bread aroma is clean and fresh. Burnt barley is present but not overpowering. Hops are earthy and with a touch of spice but subdued by the sweet aromas.

T: Smooth roasted and burnt barley are full on with additional brown bread and molasses notes. Hints of chocolate and chicory from the burnt malt. Hops add some spicy and bittering flavors to balance the sweetness.

M: Medium body and tight carbonation that is just right for this style. Finish is slightly dry.

D: Exemplary brown ale and one full of flavor and not watery for this style. It remains interesting throughout and beckons one to try more.
