Don't worry if you look at the label of this beer and see what you see, you're not trippin on acid. I'd feel more comfortable if they removed "malt beverage with raspberries added" from the label. If my mom liked beer, this is the one she'd get (she's a raspberry lover). Brewed with spring water per the bottle cap. Ok, enough of my rambling, let's move on to the beer:
Into a hefeweizen glass it goes, and...wow...it's a lot clearer than I was expecting. But at least it's toped by a nice head. Now I'm trying to figure out if a skunk crawled into the bottle, because it's skunky with a touch of raspberry. Does that mean it smells like rotten raspberries? Now let's taste it: well, I taste raspberry, and there's a touch of wheat malt. What else? Sorry, I can't find anything else. Crisp feel in the mouth and maybe a little thinner for a wheat beer. Despite it's drawbacks, I was still drinking it all the way with no hesitation.
Well, this didn't work out, did it? If it weren't for the raspberry flavor, this would be a very boring beer. Because of it's boringness with a hint of fruit, this might make an alright introduction beer to somebody. Otherwise, I would frogleap this one.
