Notes/Commercial Description:
Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with raspberry puree added after filtration. Therefore, you may see raspberry pulp in the beer. The raspberries provide the lager with a subtle purple coloration and haze, a fruity aroma, and a tartly sweet taste.

A: Hazy light brown. I wasn't really seeing any purple but....
S: Smelled light with a hint of wheat there.
T: Bubbly, light, smooth, oaty, wheaty. I didn't taste the raspberry but it didn't hurt this beer. It was a little on the light side but had a good flavor still.
M: Sat very nicely. Bubbly and playful and left a lingering wheat flavor. Was a little on the watery side.

Overall this is a pretty good beer. It could go for a little more hops or so as it tasted a little watery but the wheat really stood out in this beer.

I can't get a good feel on color because it's in a semi-tinted Purple Haze pint glass. Looks burnt amber on top, purple at the bottom. PS: I have to drink three of these to win the glass (at the Circle Inn in Crafton, PA).

Smells like wheat grain and raspberry-scented perfume. Tinny and flowery. Far from incredible. Weak and unassuming.

Grainy and grassy. Weird raspberry ester pulling through. Not candied, not entirely fake, just muted tones of watery raspberry with some crispness, some metallic off-flavors, and implied freshness. Extremely one-note. Wheaty tang, some grassy hop, not much of anything else. I hate that my girlfriend likes this brew.

Mouthfeel is watery, but clean. Slightly over-carbonated. Not much for consistency.

This is not that bearable. I'm on my second, and struggling. I WILL win this glass, but at a price. Somebody pour me a Yuengling, please.

Review taken from notes.

A - Pours a hazy golden hue with a one finger head that fades super fast to leave very light spotty lacing.

S - Smell is average wheat aromas with some light malts and some very light fruit/raspberry esters.

T - Taste is more of the same. Nice wheat notes with some super light fruit/raspeberry onthe finish. Very, very light.

M - Mouthfeel is a bit on the thin/watery side. Just average.

O - Overall, this is an average beer. I used to drink alot of this back when I bowled in the pregaming sessions. You can do worse, but you can also do quite better.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle into standard pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy golden hue with a one-finger white head that quickly dissipates. Spotty lacing is left on the glass as I drink.

Smell: barely anything. A tiny bit of hops, wheat, and a strange kind of medicinal smell. Watery as hell smelling.

Taste: Light wheat flavor, followed by a very light hop and raspberry flavor. When I say light, I mean light, This beer barely has any flavor! It's very grassy and watery.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied and highly carbonated, easy as hell to drink

Overall: I really don't understand the name of this beer; the raspberries are barely discernible. If you want an extremely light flavored fruit beer, this is for you.

To me this beer is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to try a different tasting beer for a change. The name of this beer says it all. The look of it is a faint yellow with decent head, the taste is that of faint grape mixed with other fruit. And the smell is fruity.

The Purple Haze pours a pretty clear light golden color with a decent head. The head dissipates quite quickly though.

On the nose I get some interesting scents. A deep raspberry note comes through rather stronger than I thought it would, which gives it a great "wild" feel. I can imagine being out in the woods with a bucket full of mushed raspberries. Unfortunately, I don't sense much else going on.

The raspberries definitely take the front on the taste, but it is complimented by an amazing malty sweetness on the end. Wow, I love that finish!

Overall I would say that this beer is a nice, light, and refreshing beer that is good for a 6-pack night drinking with friends.

A light, very drinkable but flavorful beer. Nose is raspberries with some biscuity malt. Very clean lager taste, w the raspberries offering a not-at-all overpowering tartness; faint bit of spiciness from the hops. The beer is a little sweet, balanced mostly by the raspberry tartness. For what it is - a relatively light American lager - I can't think of many other beers I'd prefer to drink when that's what I'm looking for. It's real raspberries, not some nasty flavoring, and it's executed extremely well. If it weren't for the price, I'd buy this a lot more often as a solid session beer
