Poured out of a growler into a pint glass.

Pours a slightly hazy medium copper with a one finger white head. Really impressive head retention and lacing, especially for a growler pour.

The aroma is a little different than many other American IPA's I have had. There is much more emphasis on pine rather than citrus with a little bit of a sweet, almost bubblegum-like aroma. A little citrus makes its way in but it is way behind the pine.

The flavor is much like the aroma. Lots of pine with a little bit of bubblegum perhaps from the yeast. Some very light mango and coconut comes through giving this kind of a light and springtime flavor. Mouthfeel is nice and light with a farily dry finish.

Overall, a nice beer from Abita and a great spring seasonal. Even though the alcohol level is a bit too high to consider this beer sessionable, it is very easy drinking and would be easy to have several of in a sitting.

Too flowery and perfumy for me. All the same this is a resonant IPA with lots of bright flavors.
Brassy.

A: Good amount of lace over an apricot body. Light carbonation and head.
S: Ample! Bright, brassy hops with flowers, citrus, grass, herb garden... very west coast, almost over done.
T: Follows the smell, but really bright, floral, hoppy. Rind, pineapple, tropical fruits, blossoms dominate the white cracker malt underneath. Slightly sweet, sun tea like, but nicely off set with pepper.
MF: A bit thin but adequate. Good finish.
O: A good light weight beer to meditate on and tease apart the flavors. Almost a dessert beer.

Original and a must try. One of Abita's best.

Poured from a "stubby" 12oz. bottle into a standard pint glass.
Cloudy, chill-hazed gold in color, with an attractive cap of frothy white foam.
Aroma-Lightly toasted malt, herbal hop note
Taste-Resiny, piney hops, sweet toasted malt. Nothing to blow your doors off here, just a nice little flavorful IPA that would feel comfortable at any cookout.

12oz bottle poured medium amber with a large and durable off-white head.

Aroma: light on hops for style.

Flavor: Pronounced hops appropriate for style. Herbal and flowery hops. Moderately bitter.

O. Looks great, smells good, but the taste is a bit disappointing albeit appropriately bitter and hoppy.
