Enjoyed at the Abita Brewery, then again at a party.

A: Hazy golden/orange with a frothy off-white one finger head that lingered. Lacing for days.

S: Nice citrus notes of orange, peach and apricots. Belgian yeast and peppers protrude.

T: Very smooth and frothy. The floral and citrus notes hit you immediately with peach and apricot. Belgian malts and yeast linger long after the finish. Sweet throughout.

M: Thick and chewy with medium to high carbonation. This one is a joy on the tongue.

O: A great party drink. Very sessionable. The light fruitiness and Belgian yeastiness of French Connection make it a hit with both guys and ladies. Abita has a very strong line of Select beers. This is another winner.

A saisonesque beer brewed with French Malts, French hops and French yeast. I love the concept! Very good beer. Pale gold, enticing aroma. Smells abit like Starburst candy, in a good hoppy/yeasty sort of way. Love how it tastes. Starts funky and slightly sour. Hops ride in and deliver a bit of lemon zest and melon. The finish is a bit sweet and slightly sour. My only complaint really, wish this one was just a bit drier, but all in all that's small matter considering how fantastic this beer is.

Poured a nice cloudy amber/orange with a thin white head. It looked nice, though not amazing. Scents of apricot, peach, fruity esters, slight barnyard funk, sweet spices and a bit of bubblegum as it warms. Quite appealing and true to saison style. Taste starts with a slightly sour flavor, not overwhelming, very much a saison level, moves into some bitter citrus pith and a bit of apricot and peach in the background. Funky flavors come out as the beer warms, as do some peppery and spiced flavors, both becoming more prominent on the aftertaste. Some slight wheat cracker throughout, especially on the finish. It finished semi-dry with a slight bitter aftertaste with notes of pepper and spices. Complex and refreshing, hitting all the right flavors for a saison. Mouthfeel is light bodied with moderate carbonation and a semi-drying finish, true to the style. Overall this is a very nice saison. It's nothing out of the ordinary for the style, but it is a well crafted example of the classic farmhouse ale of France and Belgium.

A compliment to the brewer. First sip was definitely a saison. Medium amber hue with 1/4 inch head that quickly dissapated to just a film on top with a small amount of lacing. Good malt, good spice saison flavor with just a hint of lemon wafting up through my olfactory senses.

I did not have any food with this pint which is a shame because Capt'n Mikes in Kenosha, WI makes great food. This saison is dead on stylistically, and will pair well with pungent bar food.

I enjoyed this beer. I will recommend it the next person that orders food to experience a real good pairing style.
