Poured from a 22oz bottle into a brandy snifter. Probably bottled around Fall 2011.
A: Pours a very dark, leathery orange with a nice off-white head. Head is fluffy and retains well. Some decent lacing.
S: Sticky molasses, big caramel malt, tangy pineapple, dark alcohol behind.
T: Like the nose - huge sticky red malts with some faded but still pungent fruity hops. Caramel, toffee, molasses, brown sugar, dried mango, pineapple, nice dose of grain. Earthy alcohol underneath, but it's surprisingly well-hidden and integrated.
M: Soft mouthfeel, not too thick.
O: I like this with a few months on it. Hops are still there but move back a bit to allow the malt profile to come out.
