Had on tap @ Driftwood, Plymouth. Poured into a tulip glass
Appearance: red-brown in color, 1/2 inch head, clear, moderate carbonation
Smell: piney and citrus hops, toffee and earth
Taste: Follows the nose piney and citrus hops, toffee, earth, with caramel
Mouthfeel: medium bodied for the style, low carbonation, sweet start with bitter middle and dry bitter end
Overall: An enjoyable American barleywine. Plenty of hop flavor to go around with some stick sweet malts. Not the first American barleywine I would reach for but it is pretty tasty.

Poured into a snifter at ca 45F.
A - Pours an amber color with a single finger of head that slowly gives way to a light lacing.
S - Smells mostly of hops, with a slight amount of ester overtone.
T - Very hop forward with a slight amount of apple/ester in the background.
M - Light bodied for a barley wine with the typical modest amount of carbonation.
O - Not really a barley wine but more of a very hoppy double/triple IPA. Fairly unidimensional, hops and lots of it.

Poured from the bottle into a snifter glass. No obvious bottle dating, but since just released I'll guess vintage 2013.
A nice glowing orange to red ruby hue, and nearly crystal clear. Head is off tan to white and super creamy in appearance. Not much retention but also a nice creamy thick collar and bright shiny top on the glass. Good looking beer.
Great smelling nose to go with the appearance. Large aromas of hop dank qualities. Juiced fleshy orange rind, earthy soil to match as well. Very controlled but large, virtually no sweetness sensing.
For it's surprising large aromas it's quite light bodied. Slightly wet mouthfeel but with a good malt coating that still manages to pass the flavors along. Hopped dank earth, and mellow sweetness. Finishes very clean and light surprisingly, with a hint of orange/grapefruit hop finish. Very long hop aromas of pine bitterness round out.
Overall it's just a pretty solid barleywine.
