22 oz. bottle, no freshness date.
Pours out golden brown and sits a crisp reddish brown in the glass with a 1/2 finger, fluffy off-white head that fades to a light skim.
Smells of sweet, sugary malts blended with maple syrup, caramel and toated marshmallow. Full, rich aroma of alcohol. Hopping is clear and precise, spicy and well balanced. There is a whole range of other aromas billowing from this, but I can't seem to put my finger on any of the others. Sugary, candilke in general aroma; very pleasant.
Tastes quite sweet up front, candy sugar, caramel and slightly burnt sugar. Alcohol pairs with the sweets and is noticed almost immediately. Spicy, herbal flavors creep in with a definative hop bitterness. Residual sweetness lingers in the mildly bitter finish.
Medium bodied, crisp and delicate carbonation. Nice and refreshing, and feels clean in the mouth.
An easily consumed treat of sugar-fed yeast byproducts. Maybe I can bring this one in to church, that'll spice up those sermons!
