Had a bottle of this to celebrate my son's 1st birthday (his name is Avery, but not because of the brewery!). However, due to various events, I only got to finish half the bottle - tried to refrigerate the rest, but it was gross when I went back to it 2 days later. What can you do?
Anyway, my experience with what I had wasn't too bad. Poured a mostly clear orangish amber (quads always look like Triaminic to me) with lots of lacing but very little head. Aroma backs up the Triaminic thing - sweet and sugary, with tangerine or orange notes. Some strong yeast notes as well. The flavour is much darker and more complex, with dark fruits, roasted malts, mild citrus overtones from the aroma, and not nearly as sweet as the aroma would have you expect. I found it pleasant when it was cooler, but actually somewhat unpleasant as it warmed. The aftertaste was both cloying and astringent, which I think was an effect of the high alcohol.
Honestly, I really need to give this one another go and maybe revise my review later.
