Serving Type Sampled: On tap at the Pump House in Longmont CO.
Appearance: This beer poured a hazy amber in color. Atop the pint is a chunky head thats full of goodness. This head dwindled a little but still managed to slide all the way down the glass.
Smell: Need I say hoppy! I smell a symphony of hoppy notes, fresh orange zest, and alcohol.
Taste: The taste is so complex that Im not sure that I can put words to it properly. The overwhelming hops are complimented nicely with a biscuity malt flavor that is mildly sweet. There is also a citrus note that is very unpronounced but still apparent. The taste of alcohol is very mild. There is a bit of a grainy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy in body, Carbonation is mild.
Drinkability: Fair, This is a great IIPA; however is very much an extreme beer. This limits your intake to about one bomber or so. It also has a odd harshness that makes it almost cloying after awhile.
Serving type: on-tap
