Nice ruby color with an off white creamy head that lasts for the duration. Good lacing on the glass suggests the great brew that is to come.
The aroma begins with sweet caramel malt and fades into some nice piney hop notes.
The flavor erupts with sweetness and is balanced by huge hop bitterness. Caramel, plums, pine, sweet citrus, finishes cleanly with a little residual sweetness on the tongue. There is very little bitterness left on the palate.
A little too sweet to earn an excellent drinkability rating but with 10% ABV that is probably a good thing. Great beer that I would highly recommend for any hophead!

Poured from a growler into a tulip
A: Hazy light brown, one-finger head
S: Lots of malt, caramel, toffee followed by grapefruit, pine and tropical fruit underneath. Complex and very pleasant to smell
T: Matches the nose but the hops are more prevalent
M: Full bodied; malty, hoppy, not hot but I can tell the EtOH is there
O: Not the best DIPA I've had but quite tasty and a classic example of the style. I've had this both bottled and on tap and it's far better on tap
