Served in 10 oz chalice glass
Appearance –A nice golden color with a sea of little tiny carbonation bubbles running up through the brew. The head upon serving is quite small and fades fast to give a medium to high level of lacing with a little persistent film remaining on the brew.
Smell – A nice citrus hop aroma mixed with a bready backbone and a tiny bit of caramel sweetness. At the end of the aroma, more earthy hop notes come into play and give a nice rounding out of the smell.
Taste – A heavy maltiness mixed with a slightly bitter hop flavor are in the front. These begin to blend with a sweet citrus hop flavor. The sweeter citrus flavor is mainly lemon in nature and complements the more bitter hop flavors. The sweet and lemon seem to strengthen at the expense of the more piney and bitter hop flavors (although these remain strong) and finish out the taste leaving a rather enjoyable aftertaste in the mouth.
Mouthfeel – It has a very nice creamy body. The tiny carbonation bubbles seen in the look, tingle the tongue as one drinks the beer. The smoothness and creaminess mixed with the tickling burst of the bubbles on the tongue and make for a nice mouthfeel experience.
Overall – This was a rather enjoyable and flavorful double IPA. One that evokes you to sit and sip over some time.

Poured from a growler into a tulip
A: Hazy light brown, one-finger head
S: Lots of malt, caramel, toffee followed by grapefruit, pine and tropical fruit underneath. Complex and very pleasant to smell
T: Matches the nose but the hops are more prevalent
M: Full bodied; malty, hoppy, not hot but I can tell the EtOH is there
O: Not the best DIPA I've had but quite tasty and a classic example of the style. I've had this both bottled and on tap and it's far better on tap
Serving type: growler
