Poured from a 750ml bottle into a delirium tremens snifter.
A: Clear, orange-copper color; very small head, no retention; medium lacing
S: Earthy, slightly hoppy-citrusy smell with hints of malts. Overall the smell is subtle; its not overpowering or super hoppy, just faint
T: WOW. Rich and creamy at first with a delicious malty sweetness, then transitions into a slightly spicy-hoppy bitterness with a little malt back there for balance. There's nothing that sticks out too much or explodes on the tastebuds, but its just so amazingly well balanced and richly sweet.... the best Imperial IPA I've ever had.
M: Very thick and creamy; full-bodied and ridiculously smooth; absolutely no hint of the 10.5% abv that this thing carries. It's like drinking liquid silk.
O: One of the best Imperial IPAs I've ever had. Period. It's not a super tropical-y, fruity DIPA (which I adore), rather it's more of a smooth and subdued creamy brew. Don't pass this one by

This is a very good beer, but I have had better. Maybe I have held on to this one too long, but it was a bit too malty for my taste. Although the bottle promotes the balance and "control" like a raja of both hops and malts. I feel like the malts are too intense for the beer. Well balanced but for the style I would say medium to high ratings.
Color: Dark bronze, but with some transparency, also a very low amount of head and lacing.
Smell: Not as intense as a West Coast IPA. Maybe that is my favorite style?
Taste: Balanced, I got this one on sale for a super deal so I figured I would try it, but I would not pay what the original price reflected.
Overall: A Solid beer, well balanced, not as much hops going on as I would like but its not a bad beer in any regard. But, to me there are much better in the same price range.
