Pours a beautiful, medium copper color, with a foamy finger of head that, dissolves to form a nice bit of lacing atop the glass.
Smells of earthy hop goodness, with faint hints of the malt and I do declare I noticed a bit of a cidery scent as well. But hops dominate for sure!
Has a strong dry hop flavor, mixed with caramel malt, a mild sweetness. Has a smooth buttery feel on the tongue (at least my tongue anyway). Whie the earthier pine hop dominates, there is a hint of fruity citrus hops in there as well. The alcohol hits you almost right away, so there's no hiding the ABV here!
This is another winner from Avery, but not for the faint of heart, or something to that extent? Very enjoyable and definitely hoptastic!

Poured from a growler into a tulip
A: Hazy light brown, one-finger head
S: Lots of malt, caramel, toffee followed by grapefruit, pine and tropical fruit underneath. Complex and very pleasant to smell
T: Matches the nose but the hops are more prevalent
M: Full bodied; malty, hoppy, not hot but I can tell the EtOH is there
O: Not the best DIPA I've had but quite tasty and a classic example of the style. I've had this both bottled and on tap and it's far better on tap
