Pours a glowing light amber with a rich head. Wonderful lacing in a Dogfish Head goblet. Pungent, wild notes of fresh hops hit the nose and make the mouth water.
Oily, skanky and funky, this is an earthy full-force hop delight. The taste is wonderful with pungent, oily hops playing lead as the tropical fruit malt backbone holds everything together. Biting, juicy finish with a creaminess that is not too common to the style. Medium-bodied but full of flavor.
This is a great example of the DIPA style and has so much to offer for a hop head. I'm not a hop head, but I totally appreciate the way everything is pulled together and think this should be a good benchmark for any brewer looking to create a solid DIPA.

This is a very good beer, but I have had better. Maybe I have held on to this one too long, but it was a bit too malty for my taste. Although the bottle promotes the balance and "control" like a raja of both hops and malts. I feel like the malts are too intense for the beer. Well balanced but for the style I would say medium to high ratings.
Color: Dark bronze, but with some transparency, also a very low amount of head and lacing.
Smell: Not as intense as a West Coast IPA. Maybe that is my favorite style?
Taste: Balanced, I got this one on sale for a super deal so I figured I would try it, but I would not pay what the original price reflected.
Overall: A Solid beer, well balanced, not as much hops going on as I would like but its not a bad beer in any regard. But, to me there are much better in the same price range.
