From a 650 ml bottle (Batch 17, Release 2013) into a globe glass.
A-A normal pour produces a nice looking copper/caramel/amber colored beer. The brew is mostly clear with a few chunky bubbles. The head is thin, a thick cap really, and off-white. No lacing.
S-The smell is big and bold. I detect soapy bitterness, grapefruit, peppery spice, pineapple, pine, and quite a bit of fruity, warming alcohol. The scent is intense and biting.
T-The taste, while also huge and brash, is more earthy and dank. There is a lot of peppery spice and bitter, herbal hops. The alcohol is very noticeable, and it gives a nice touch of fruit and warmth. The malts also come through with a little bread dough and caramel. The hoppy finish is one of the longest I have ever experienced.
M-The feel is medium body with an oily character and fine, lightly prickly carbonation.
O-I don't know if I actually like this beer as much as some of the more nuanced IIPAs out there, but I give credit where it is due, and if you like big, bold, in-your-face flavors, credit is due here. Somehow, the malts and fruity alcohol amplify the hoppy bitterness, and while the whole thing can be a bit much, but if you're buying this beer, you probably know what you are getting into.

This is a very good beer, but I have had better. Maybe I have held on to this one too long, but it was a bit too malty for my taste. Although the bottle promotes the balance and "control" like a raja of both hops and malts. I feel like the malts are too intense for the beer. Well balanced but for the style I would say medium to high ratings.
Color: Dark bronze, but with some transparency, also a very low amount of head and lacing.
Smell: Not as intense as a West Coast IPA. Maybe that is my favorite style?
Taste: Balanced, I got this one on sale for a super deal so I figured I would try it, but I would not pay what the original price reflected.
Overall: A Solid beer, well balanced, not as much hops going on as I would like but its not a bad beer in any regard. But, to me there are much better in the same price range.
