Nose: mild light large pitted fruit, spicy grain
Clear golden to amber under a very thin (< 1") white foam cap that quickly collapses and leaves light lace.
Palate: more malt driven than yeast driven. Grainy light malts with a hint of light large pitted fruit, slight spicy herbal hop bitter accent on the finish. No big flavors.
Medium to medium light body and carbonation.

Pours a thin head on a clear darker straw colored body.
The aroma is like cotton candy with a little fruit salad.
The flavor is mild overall, a little lemon bitterness and some mild sweetness.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
A more interesting pale ale but still on the mild side overall.

5.4% ABV listed on the label vice the 5.20% currently listed on the BA beer description.

Very clear, copper-colored body with lively, fine carbonation and a one-finger thick, white head (3.75). Mild caramel aroma with fruity hints of pear and grape (3.75). Warm, bready malt flavor with a delicately sweet fruitiness, much like the aroma (3.75). Medium-heavy mouthfeel, smooth and silky; semi-sweet finish (3.75).

Perhaps I have an oddly good example of this beer based on the relatively low ratings (BA 77, Bros 72). It drinks very nicely and has a nice, well-balanced malt character throughout. Mild fruity esters really compliment the malt profile. An enjoyable, late summer thirst quencher.

Haven't had a bad Avery brew yet.

Poured from the 12 oz. bottle into a Unibroue stemmed flute.

a: Clear amber with a two inch tall white head which receded to thin surface foam.

s; Mild light fruit.

t: Mild fruit cup over a light to medium malt base. Dry finish.

m: Light to medium with pretty good body and a lot of carbonation tingle.

o: More like an English pale ale than a Belgian, due to the very mild fruit element, although the malt flavor is also rather low. Except for the dark color it might even pass for a lager. Refreshing.
