22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 2005. Pours hazy golden amber color with a good 1-2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Good foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of big cinnamon, allspice, ginger, biscuit, pepper, clove, coriander, lemon zest, wheat, herbal, floral, earth, and yeast spiciness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and spice complexity; reminiscent of cinnamon toast crunch a bit. Taste of lemon, pear, toast, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, pepper, coriander, wheat, herbal, floral, clove, and yeast spices. Lingering notes of citrus, pepper, cinnamon, clove, herbal, floral, and yeast spices on the finish for a good bit. Nice flavor complexity and balance; zero cloying sweetness. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly slick and slightly crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is was a fantastic saison!(even being 7 years old). Great spice balance and complexity and extremely smooth to sip on. This was very highly enjoyable.

From 01/16/11 notes. Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a pint glass.

a - Pours a murky orange color with one inch of white head and light carbonation evident.

s - Smells like the cinnamon toast crunch cereal to a tee. Cinnamon, bready malts, and spices.

t - Tastes the same as the nose, mainly the cereal cinnamon toast crunch. Cinnamon, bready malts, spices, fruit.

m - Medium body and low carbonation, super smooth and creamy.

d - I really liked this one a lot; lots of bready malts and cinnamon. Would like to have again.

A: The pour is a clear golden amber color with a finger's worth of mildly off-white head.

S: A huge cinnamon sugar aroma with some all spice and nutmeg too. Some hints of bread, but the cinnamon aroma is just completely overpowering.

T: The cinnamon sugar flavor would be fine by itself, but it's mixed with eucalyptus/menthol, which is in no way enjoyable. A slight burn on the tongue and throat, reminiscent of one of those teas one might drink when sick.

M: The body is medium with a carbonation that is on the low end of medium. The heat I associate with the menthol is quite noticeable here, too.

D: No thanks. As previously mentioned, the cinnamon might be fine on its own, but not with the addition of the burning heat of the menthol.

Pours cloudy bright orange with a nice thick white head, leaves a good lacing for a 4yr old bottle.

This is a Sasion spice bomb. It'd be a great Halloween beer (for someone) due to the overtly cinnamon, allspice flavors I'm getting. Big spice...I hope I don't get heart burn....

I would think this beer would mellow out after 4 years of aging but it seems to have only diminished the other characters pushing the Pumpkin pie profile to the front. Some (more?) white pepper mighjt have cut it for me.

If you like sweet spicey holiday style beers then you need this beer. If that's not your thing (it's not mine) then tell a friend who might like it.

Picked up a bottle from Ye old Spirit Shop in Frederick, MD.

Pours a nice yellow hazy orange with a good head formation. The aroma will make you sit back as for me I have yet to smell a beer quite like this. The aroma for me contains a very bready and fruit spice to it. Can we say Pumpkin Bread? or Zuchini Bread? WOW the flavors of this brew were extremly bready as in the kind freash out of the oven that was made with some kind of fruit or vegetable. These flavors are very intense im guessing due to the aging of it. The brew is otherwise of medium body and Alcohol level is no where to be noticed. Though the flavors are very extreme and I could not have another afterwards.

Still would recomend as an extremly interesting brew.

Poured cloudy orange/straw with a big 2 finger fluffy head. Little lace.

Smell was ALL spice. Pumpkin pie, cinnamon

Taste was a powdery spice, with a yeasty flavor. Light citrus also.

Overrall pretty drinkable. Sweet and could only have 1 per sitting but a tasty beer regardless.

Bottle courtesy of Ding, (poured into a Piraat chalice also courtesy of Ding) thanks again!

Beer is a nice bright and hazy gold color with a huge white fluffy head.

Aromas are quite floral, with some minerals, lemon, with lots of mixed spices, especially cloves. This beer has a very nice and complex nose.

Taste is very dry, with a very distrinct chamomile flavor. Almost like a sweet and spiced tea. There is a subtle malt creaminess, and a varied mixture of spices that it's hard to detect some of them. Finish is of light lemon and citrus zest, as well as some mineral spices.

Mouthfeel is nice and full, very thick with a full, with great carbonation and an overall smoothness.

Drinkability is pretty good. This is an interesting and complex Saison. However, it's a little over spiced in my opinion. Still tasty though, and well worth trying.

A - This beer had a golden hue with decent lacing. Nothing special

S - Huge ginger spice with a large backup of malt. Hint of almond and lemon

T - Huge sweetness that dies off gradually. Sweetest beer I can remember. Spicy and compliments the smell.

M - Thin and smooth, carbonation does not come in to play which may be from the age. Mouth dries out at the end.

D - This beer is very drinkable. Alcohol is very moderate.

Final Thoughts: This beer leaves you wanting more. With the dry ending you can't help but take another sip. I like it.

Appearance: Poured with 1 inch white bubbly frothy head that dissipated to a thin layer leaving a little lacing at the top of my glass. The beer is yellowish gold and slightly hazy

Smell: Lemon, strong spice smell like ginger and cardamom, sweet cocoa, and huge amount of fruit

Taste: spicy sweet, even after a few years there is a small hop presence. The flavor reminds me of pumpkin bread, and some lemony after taste with cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. Has a small alcohol taste at the end.

Mouthfeel: Spicy tingle, and slightly dry

Overall: Pretty drinkable, huge smell with a lot going on. Nice subtle flavors all work well together. Still very delicious even with the years on it.
