Appearance:
This beer looks like I wish every IPA looked like. A good clean copper pour topped off with a fluffy off white head. The head has some great staying power and leaves some good clumpy lacing about the glass.
Smell:
Potent hop scent of grapefruit and apricot dominate the nose. There is a body of caramel malts and a minor yeast character. Not terribly strong but very pleasant.
Taste and Mouthfeel:
There's a good balance of bitter and fruity hop character. The citrus hopping is complimented by a medium body of caramel malts. The beer drinks rather dry and has a pretty clean finish. There is a minor aftertaste citrus rind to close out the drink.
Drinkability:
The beer really only loses points here for the bitterness and that citrus rind aftertaste. I could drink quite a few of these but it's slightly on the palette burner side.
Bottom Line:
This beer was shockingly good. Most Avery beer that I've had I found to be mediocre to pretty good but this by far takes the cake. Don't pass on this one hop heads.

Poured from a 12oz can
The look is a light amber to gold, with a very light haze, almost crystal clear. On the pour there was a nice 2 finger head which slowly dissapates into a medium thin cap that leaves lacing. Good looking
Smell is resinous and piney with a hint of grapefruit. Not a lot of beer smell it's largely covered by the hops but some malt sweetness gets through. Its a very nice smell, definitely an ipa.
Taste is a bit different than the smell but it's very similar. Bitterness right up front. And malt residing solidly at the back. As the beer warms the citruis grows, and it becomes very grapefruit like, but still not juicy, very resinous. If I was more into hops I'd say it's a good refreshing ipa.
Feel is relatively light, but still present enough in the mouth to bring it to just the right balance of creamy lightness to keep it refreshing but full flavored and solid at the same time. A crafty afternoon work beer, but big enough to make itself known.
Overall am ipa right in the middle of the road but still somehow making its point without compromise. West coast with a splash of juice keeping it bitter, but not too strong and good for almost any time but especially as a refresher.

Pours a translucent gold. Piney nose. Strong notes of pine and maybe pineapple? Lacking the hop bite I was hoping for. Canned 12/3/21.

12 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Golden colour, big white head. Nice aroma of fruity and floral hops. The flavour is disctinctly hoppy throughout - plenty of American grapefruity and resinous hops, some malty sweetness in the middle, bitter finish and aftertaste. Quite good.
