12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a hazy amber color. The head, at a fingers worth and featuring a white shade, has a rocky texture and decent retention. A goodly amount of lacing is left behind.
S: Smells like a typical IPA, and that's not really an insult. It's loaded with herbal, piny hops, backed by a twinge of grapefruit. Some malts poke through, also. All in all, the nose is well done but standard.
T: It opens up with a mild sweetness (think sugar cookie), before a pleasant wave of herbal, bitter hops finish it off. Some grapefruity hints in the aftertaste. There's a touch of hop-derived complexity, which is probably my favorite feature. Otherwise, it's just a competent IPA, no more, no less.
M: While it's mildly sweet on the palate, it doesn't have an overt sliminess some IPAs do. The hops do well to keep the finish mildly dry, and medium carbonation gives it good drinkability.
O: I really have nothing to complain about. It's a decent IPA without flaws. The problem is that there's nothing here that wows me - basically, it's a bog standard IPA. I wouldn't seek it out given all the choices here, but I'd easily drink it again if offered to me.

Poured from a 12oz. can into a Sam Adams pint glass
Flows into the glass a beautiful crystal-clear gold with lots of carbonation. A stiff pour yields a massive head, very foamy with big bubbles. It condenses fairly fast and leaves a a lot of lacing.
The aroma is quite nice. I get citrus, pine, a bit of rising bread, orange peel, grass and a hint of onion.
This beer tastes great. Layers of hop flavors. Juicy citrus up front, some pine and a nice lingering and spicy bitterness. As it warms, a little bit of grassiness and even a hint of onion. There's also some malty sweetness hiding in the background.
The mouthfeel is light to medium with a bit of stickiness.
overall, a really good IPA that I wish I could obtain on a regular basis.
