Nov. 2006 Batch 2, 16.03%
Cellared for a few years, I expected a layer of compacted sediment but there was none strangely. Poured into a tulip jet black, a huge billowing head of chocolatey mocha foam on top. Striated rings of lacing made for a nice looking RIS.
Big chocolatey aroma, some malted milk, chocolate milkshake, sweet booze. Oxidation is minimal. Pretty rich and silky smooth. Some slight tingle from the alcohol, but otherwise well integrated. Rich dark chocolate, mild fruity raisin/currant, and bitter char. Packs a punch for sure. A good late winter/early spring sipper.
