A tan head with a caramel brown reddish hue body.
Caramels, toasted nuts, molasses, brown sugar and roasted malts and a hint of esters, give this beer a pleasing aroma.
The taste has nutty and molasses hints with a good firm malt character. The finish is smooth with a slight acidic taste. Has a Medium body. Enjoyed very much

From the pour rises a creamy 2 1/2 inch tan head. Beer is dark brown in color. A strong smell of toasted malt. Taste is walnuts, chocolate, coffee. It has a bitter finish which leaves a earthy nutty aftertaste in your mouth. This beer has everything I like in a brown ale.

Pours a dark brown with hints of ruby when held to the light (looks nearly black in the glass) with a nice creamy two fingers of head that settles rockily to a healthy film and then a light film. Decent retention; some spotted lacing.
Really 'brown'-smelling with some yeasty phenols. Caramel malt aromas with chocolate some brown sugar and a tiny bit of raisin.
Smooth, chocolatey and delicious. Really rich nut and toffee flavors hit you right off the bat, with walnut, cocoa powder, dark bread and other nutty, chocolatey, bready flavors as well!
Medium bodied and extremely drinkable. There is a short finish, a nice creamy texture and good carbonation (honestly I would prefer it with a little less of the latter and more of the former).
Very good beer.
This is a smooth, easy drinking brown ale that has got it all where it counts. Pretty nice looking with lots of great nose to it and a mellow, nutty, chocolate-dipped flavor. Much better than I was expecting.
Would have again; well worth trying.
