Pours rich transparent dark ruby brown. Leaves little head, but there is a small island in the middle. The token foam-ring is attached to the glass. It laces just slightly.
Smell seems to have chocolate and molassis - quite attractive.
Taste comes through with the chocolate, molassis, some malt, and a sweetness, perhaps honey-like.
Mouthfeel is very creamy, and gently fizzles down the throat.
Finish is quite clean, some hop must have swept up to keep the pallete dry and untainted.
This has a nice rich body, too.
I didn't expect this to be such a good beer, but it has pleasently surprised me. If you see this, and like darker beers, please give this a try!
