Appearance: Pours a clear brown color with ruby highlights. About 3/4" of tan head forms, which has pretty decent lacing and okay retention.
Smell: Smells nutty, with a bit of coffee and cocoa. Nice malty smell, without a lot of hop character. Appropriate for the style.
Taste: Very malty all around. Nutty, with lighter coffee and cocoa accents. Hop character is limited but still present.
Mouthfeel/Overall: Light-medium in body, with abundant, fine carbonation. Smooth drinking. Overall, it's a good brown ale that borders very good, but doesn't go the extra mile to differentiate itself.
