Appearance: Dark dark amber/brown in color. Nice head that stays and leaves great lacing.

Smell: Pretty complex aroma, its obviously a winter ale in the aroma department. Lots of differing malts aromas, some caramel, and I keep picking up on some vanilla, maybe a bit of oak?

Taste: Complex as hell. Overloading my sense of taste. Roasted malts, caramel, a fruitiness, vanilla, brown sugar? I typically don't care for an overload of taste like this but it works in this beer some how for me. I dig it.

Mouthfeel: Medium/thick very creamy tasting.

Drinkability: It's strong, for me the alcohol doesn't make this one non-sessionable, just the overloading taste. I really dig it and I have had it on draft and in the bottle several times. I recommend you try it even if you aren't a big fan of winter warmers.

A very well-rounded winter ale. Dark garnet red color and spicy aroma. Big malt, with faint pear essence and carbernet wine. Hops are well balanced against the malt, giving a beefy finish to the beer. The high abv is woven into the flavor and not at all prominent. Overall, a very "traditional" sort of strong ale, and a very nice seasonal offering.

Pours a brown color with ruby tones to it. Big foamy off-white head with good retention and nice lacing.

Spicy hops in the aroma.

Hoppy and slightly bitter on the tongue. Then a nice malt taste comes in with a lingering slight sweetness on the tongue. Finishes with a slight bitter aftertaste.

Full mouthfeel, nice.

Very easy drinking winter warmer, recommended.

Pours a dark reddish color with a small white head. Looks like lots of carbonation.

Very malty smell with a mild hoppy note. Smells sweet too.

Hoppy notes at first with a sweet malty finish. Nice and smooth taste, no alcohol warmth.

Smooth and not too heavy, nor too light. Good level of carbonation.

I would drink this beer again and wish I could get it here in Michigan.
