Russet-copper-cinnamon hue. Nice tan lacing.
On the nose, it's got deep, rich malt tones with a nice earthy hop backdrop. *Sorghum*, straw, oats, with a nice sour note as well.
On the tongue, it comes forth as deeply, mellowly malty. Almost too malty, but then the hops come to the rescue, creating a satisfying and well-balanced brew.
It's a tad (just a tad) thin, quite sticky, leaving the sorghum sweetness lingering.
I'm not going to go seeking this out, but it's nice all the same. Avery consistently presents a quality product; if you're in the mood for a malty session brew, or a beer to match with Italian red-sauce pasta creations, then this is a good contender.
