Pours a rich reddish amber with a two finger tan head that doesn't retain for more than a few seconds, and leaves very little lacing. The nose has touches of citrus and floral, with a decent amount of caramel malt aromas. This is almost as balanced as the nose hints. Leaning ever so slightly toward the hops this APA has a lot of bready malts to offer, I prefer more hop depth in my APAs. I can see this for drinkability or with food or just wanting something with a little more flavor, but that's not going to make me remember this run of the mill offering tomorrow. A tart and bitter finish is one of the few things I do appreciate about Redpoint. The body is medium and soft overall. This is a fine APA, just expected a bit more creativity from Avery.
