Gorgeous orange color with an impressive billowing white head. Great retention.
Big pink grapefruit aroma. Nice floral scent with some pine and a little caramel malt.
Flavor is hop heavy, with lots of resiny pine. Lighter malts provide a toasted biscuit flavored base. Finish is lengthy and very bitter. The flavor didn't quite live up to the promise of the aroma, as I didn't pick up the sweet grapefruit I was anticipating.
Medium-bodied, but very smooth with fine carbonation.
A good DIPA as expected. Very resinous and bitter. I would still choose Maharaja as the more flavorful option from Avery on account of a more complete hop contribution, although the label art on duganA is quite nice.
