Absolutely LOVE this beer. One of my summer go-to's, so crisp and refreshing. Tons of passionfruit on the nose and it explodes with passionfruit, citrus, some spiciness and zest with just enough tartness to balance it all out. It's so insanely crushable, easily my favorite witbier and I'm super bummed its not a year round offering

The beer bursts out of the glass of tropical fruit. It's straight Tropicana mango, orange, and pineapple juice with a wheaty base and finish.

The aromatics on this are incredible and fruit flavors on the palate follow quite well. On tap, it reminds me of a Funky Buddha beer with its absurd aroma.

This is pretty much my all time favorite Witbier. It smells amazing, passion fruit to the max. The taste totally backs it up. So balanced. A little tart, some dryness to balance out the sweetness. My only complaint is the cost and the availability. If they can figure out a way to do this year round or at least half the year and package it in 6 pack form for $11.99 (4 pack is steep at that price for a 5.2% beer...) I would drink this all summer long and make it a staple.

Poured from a can into a stem glass.

Hazy yellow gold with loads of crisp visible carbonation a finger of fluffy white head.
Smells of passion fruit juice, wheat, lemon, pretzel dough, coriander, grass, and white pepper.
The taste starts off with a huge blast of sweet passion fruit juice. Tangy notes of oranges, grapefruit, and pineapple take over the middle. A pillow of light white dough and crackers to hold it up. Finishes tart with lemon, more passion fruit, and wheat. The aftertaste, especially in belches, tastes like estery banana and clove.
Awesome mouthfeel on this one, too. Medium-light, but insanely juicy and creamy. Drinkability is extreme. I can't hardly even set the glass down.

This is far and away the best wheat beer I've had so far. The passion fruit taste is authentic and refreshing, and the juiciness and fruitiness is fantastic as well. Buy this!!!

Had this on draft at the Avery brewing facility in Boulder. The smell and taste combination with the wonderful fruit made this as unique as it was good. Not overbearing fruit, however. This would be an amazing summer beer! He use of the Belgian yeast was also great.

Thanks so much to my brother Tim for sharing this with me pre-FNM show, enjoyed chilled from the can in a goblet.

The color is golden with light hazed thick white head with very fine bead. The smell has lots of tropical presence -Pure Passionfruit with strong fruit in the nose and mild wheat accent with subtle sweet aroma. The feel is great with tons of fruity texture with a mild tropical taste with juicy and semi-tangy sweet fruity textures with semi-dry finish with moderate carbonation.

The taste has great passionfruit flavor -like you just cut one open and dropped it into the beer with slight tangy juicy tropical quality that is sweet yet the malt flavor of wheat adds depth with a light malt backing to soften the acidity of the fruit slightly with a semi-dry lightly sour finish of yeast. Overall I loved how the fruit dominates this a great tropical wheat -the wit yeast is a perfect fit for the passionfruit, one of the best fruited wheat beers with a ton of passionfruit in the flavor, not just aroma. This is almost Hawaiian-punch like, it is so tangy and juicy you want more after it is gone.

Look: Cloudy, thick, off yellow color.

Smell: Passion fruit up front hint of sweet smells and wheat.

Taste: Not what I expected. Not so much wheat but you get the spices and passion fruit.

Feel: Felt like a tart saison or even a sour. No where remotely close to a wheat which for me was a good thing.

Overall: Super tasty beer loved it!

Really successful, soft-touch deployment of passionfruit to impart this wit with a fresh, punchy, hop-grassy tropical buoyancy. Beautiful, bright nose, bright; dry, sparkling flaxen color; extremely smooth, pleasant, light mouthfeel. Just a clean, lean yet well-structured and sophisticated, super refreshing, tiki-tilting wheat offering—and a pretty perfect hangover beer to boot.

Poured in a pint glass for review purposes, would recommend drinking it from the can. Light foam, cloudy, darker than usual for wit beer.
Very fruity nose, extends to taste, also sharply tart. Super refreshing, one of the beers I was happiest to discover this summer.

On tap at Avery. Pours a slightly-hazed yellow-straw color. Light passion fruit. Quite fruity. Subtle, but absolutely there. Delicious. Super drinkable; had to get a second glass of this one.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a very hazy yellowish orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Solid finger of white head which settles into a thin patchy layer.

Smell: A very juicy and fairly sweet aroma with a big scent of citrus fruits along with some spice. Huge upfront scent of passion fruit along with other tropical hints of mango, pineapple, orange, lemon, grapefruit, peach, and grapes. Belgian yeast with some hints of pepper. Malt hints of wheat, cracker, grains. A very good fruity aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and sweet taste with notes of citrus fruit and Belgian style spice. Big juicy tropical fruit taste with notes of passion fruit, mango, grapefruit, pineapple, orange, lemon, grapes, and peach. Belgian yeast with some notes of white pepper and slight funk. Malt notes of cracker, wheat, and grains. A really good juicy taste.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a medium to high level of carbonation. Nicely crisp, juicy, and very smooth.

Overall: A very good twist on a Witbier. The added tropical fruit goes great with the wheat.

Cloudy but vibrant appearance. Hard pour down the center of the glass (as 90% of beers should be poured!) produced a 2"head.

Aroma jumps out and fills the vicinity. Reminds me of the cans or cups of mixed fruit cocktails when I was a kid that had peaches, pineapple, grapes, and those abnormally red cherries.

I don't know what passion fruit tastes like, but taste is similar to aroma with pineapple standing out the most followed by peach. Very intense. Traditional wit character is almost undetectable, and I couldn't care less. Mellow fruit at first that takes on an acidic and salty tang as it goes down.

Mouthfeel is perfect for what this is.

I'd swear this was a properly carbonated 50/50 mix of beer and fruit juice, and I'm not complaining. And maybe it is, because the only thing I don't like about it is the $11.49 / 4-pack price.

Can purchased at Nathaniel Square Corner Store in Rochester, NY.

This pours a hazy, cloudy, and vibrant orange color, with a one inch head, and a little bit of lacing.

This smells like passionfruit, with tart wheat, grapefruit, and pineapple. Just smells like an absolutely fruity juice bomb.

This is definitely one of the best witbiers I've ever had. It's got a killer passionfruit character to it, mostly sweet, but just a tiny bit tart, with some bready sweetness, grapefruit, and a crisp finishing bite that's very typical of a good witbier, for me.

This is light bodied, with a juicy as hell mouthfeel, and a crisp level of carbonation.

A really nicely well done beer, in a style that hasn't wowed me lately.

On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Hazy to cloudy opacity with a fine textured head that goes quickly. Aroma is a bit funky in an interesting & good way, exotic, i guess is the word. Flavor is well balanced with the fruit on the wheat beer. Very refreshing. Now for a second with lunch.

Package: 355 ml can.

Appearance - Densely cloudy medium gold.

Smell - Citrus, spice, and more citrus.

Taste - At first sip when it hits your tongue you get the initial wheat ale, then your smacked with citrus, spice, bitter of the passion fruit.

Mouth-feel - This is tart, very smooth though.

Overall - I am not a sour person, I am even here and there on tart but I will say this is a dangerously sessionable beer. It is tasty, refreshing and well balance. You could kill a lot of these on a hot afternoon. I will defiantly pick this up if I see it the next time state side!

One of the best Witbiers I've ever had. The aroma is dominated by the passionfruit followed by orange peel, spicy Belgian yeast and coriander. The taste is very juicy, tropical fruit forward and refreshing. Amazing beer!

Excellent Beer. A great Berliner Style brew with a perfect addition fruit. As the Can States, Tart and Tropical. I cant state the product date of this can but the tartness is present indeed at this tasting. As for the color aroma this and that. Well... The color and clarity is a hazy bright orange and its beautiful. Flavor is so bad that you should ship me all you have.

L - hazy yellowish white amber in color. White head that quickly went away.
S - intense notes of passion fruit
T - very sweet initially with very distinct flavor of passion fruit. Small hints of citrus hops flavor at the tail end but overall a very sweet beer.
F - light and crisp.
O - Avery always impresses. This beer is intense fruity flavor. This paired with a Hawaiian plate lunch would be perfect.

Poured into a St. Bernardus glass.

Look: Rust and yellow mustard mixed together. White head, decent retention with light horizontal streaks of lacing.

Aroma: Very subtle yeast gets crushed by sweet passion fruit, mango, and pineapple. Subtle tartness as well.

Taste: Sweet malts and sweet tropical fruit like passion fruit and pineapple, leading to a slightly tart finish with white pepper spiciness.

Mouthfeel: Creamy, medium body.

Overall: Simply delicious and easy to drink, great in warm weather I would guess (as I drink this in late November).

Wow for the style this beer blew me away. Probably the best fruit forward summer beer I've ever had. The Belgian yeast meshes very well with the light tartness of the fruit. I enjoy the banana esters of a Belgian yeast and this beer just melds perfectly. I would definitely load up a cooler of this beer for a long weekend at the beach. Wow Avery... wow.

Destroyed a couple 4 packs recently, winding down with the last can for a review.
Pours a hazy pale gold, nearly opaque, with a frothy head and spotty lacing around the edges.
Aromas of coriander, citrus zest, and a funky tropical note of guava.

Taste is nicely tart with a perfect amount of passionfruit, giving off a fruity tropical vibe, surfing on a smooth wheaty wave underneath. Body is light and crisp, easy drinking and refreshing. A great rendition of a witbier with a tropical twist. Really enjoyed this beer.

Thanks to Thomas & Jenny for the tip on this one!

Serving Type: Can
Consumed: 11.19.15

A: 4.25 Pours a hazy, orange-gold with a large, fluffy, off-white head.

S: 4.5 Big passionfruit hits you right up front. That first moment made this beer really special. The tropical aroma fades rather quickly, giving way to the spice and esters of the base beer. Lemon, orange, and wheat also show up and it’s all very well integrated.

T: 4.25 Like the nose, pretty strong passionfruit at first that also fades pretty fast. Fortunately, the wit base beer is really strong and works well with the tropical and citrus flavors. Grass and herb develop on the finish before getting a final hit of passionfruit. Good balance overall; not too sweet and only a little tart.

M: 4.5 Really nice, refreshing body with good carbonation.

O: 4.25 I very much enjoyed this beer. Nicely balanced with a strong (but not overpowering) passionfruit flavor. I’d like to drink this all summer long.

10 oz. draft at GBD (Golden Brown Delicious), unknown brewing/bottling date, drank over 30-60 minutes out of a tulip glass

A: 3/3 - straw yellow coloration, murky (cannot read or see through), initial eggshell head settles into a retained glass lacing with some carb islands, moderate carbonation for style

S: 9/12 - moderate passionfruit and wheat aroma hits immediately; milder coriander, lemon peel and seeds of paradise; a touch of alcohol in the nose

T: 18/20 - on the front of the tongue, there's a slight bitterness that opens the taste buds and gives way to huge passionfruit flavors; there is a moderate wheat malt character that develops over time and mild alcohol notes; finishes dry and inviting of sip after sip

M: 4/5 - light bodied with high drinkability; moderate-to-high carbonation

O: 9/10 - excellent Belgian wit base with a moderate passionfruit nose and enormous passionfruit flavor; very high drinkability to boot and could really crush this if it was more readily available; I'll go out on a limb and call this my favorite Belgian wit - highly recommended if you can find it

TOTAL - 43/50
