Serving Type - 22oz bottle
Appearance - Black with Traces of brown and tan. Not much head or lacing.
Smell - Malts, Hops, fruity, herbal aroma. Cough medicine? Some nut, brown sugar, maybe chocolate. Odd smell.
Taste - Much like the flavor this is different. Hops and malts mixed with a herbal flavor. Taste is sweet, plum, cocoa and anise is more then just a touch. Molasses and some coffee comes in at the end with a steady alcohol warmth in each drink.
Mouthfeel - Its rather smooth and easy to drink for being such a big beer. Tounge gets the malts and sweet fruits. Palette Gets alot of cocoa, coffee and remaining hops. Aftertaste is sweet, lemonish and malty.
Overall - Different, The sweetness realy makes it feel like a strong ale or even a barley wine, not so much a ris. ITs very easy to drink, the alcohol gets masked from all the sweetnessand anise. Pretty good, a twist on ris. If your looking for the standard coffee/roasted malt taste, then this isnt for you.

Appearance: It has a nice jet black color to it. It has a nice creamy tan head that dies down moderately slow and leaves some nice lacing.
Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and some dark fruit (mainly raisins).
Taste: Like the aromas, it has a some sweet roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, a slight nuttiness, vanilla and raisins.
Mouthfeel: It has a low carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.
Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied by good flavors and aromas.
